San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA)

San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA)

Located in Yerba Buena Gardens, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) is the second most important museum of modern art in the United States after the MoMA of New York.

Inside the world-famous San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, you can find contemporary and modern works ranging from paintings, sculptures, and photography, to the most avant-garde creations.

In the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, not only the exhibitions are eccentric, but the outside of the building, designed by the prestigious architect Mario Botta, also attracts attention, as it looks like an enormous brick box capped with a large cylinder.

Collections

Without any doubt, the most interesting works in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art are to be found on the second floor. Here you can view some works from well-known artists such as Matisse, Picasso, Dalí, and Miró.

If you're a true lover of modern art, you're sure to be impressed by the art pieces on all of the other floors. However, if you're not an expert, we recommend sticking to the second floor where the more famous pieces can be found.

Before leaving the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, don't forget to pay a visit to the gift shop. Here you will find unique and interesting objects that could make a perfect gift.
